i hate 'em.
no... i don't hate them all... just the punks.
conway is full of 'em. especially those
cocky teenage magazine subscription sellers.
you know the ones... desperately trying to
get the last few magazine sales in some
collosal points race in which they get an
all expenses paid trip to bumfuck....
yeah right.
in the last two weeks alone i have been
visited by 3 of them.
the first one caught me off-guard while i
was outside. i already told him that i was
receiving all the magazines i was interested
in. he attempted to make small talk on that,
to no avail. i'm not budging.
today i get two geeks who are obviously
very high (either that or they took turns
hitting each other in the eyes). i knew
it before they opened their mouths...
cocksucker: is your mom or dad home?
me: er... excuse me??
cocksucker: nah... i'm just kidding
me:
cocksucker: er... so anyways... my name is...
(i wasn't paying attention by this point)
me: if you are selling magazines, i'm not interested
cocksucker: no no... we aren't selling anything
me: well...ok..... (isfs)
cocksucker: so my name is X and this is X...
(he introduces me to some gross looking
contender for the anorexia model of the year)
me: hey
he then whips out that familiar, plastic
wrapped card displaying his fucking points
status and begins his shpeel about magazines.
by this time i'm already peeved, but after
seeing the fucking card, i was PISSED!!!!
me: i said i wasn't interested in magazines.
cocksucker: well you aren't interested in
helping us out???
(with a dastardly look on his face)
me: ummmm....no.....
cocksucker: ah cmon! we blah blah blah blah....
me: ....no....
*close*
i HATE how they think they are so fucking
clever and quick-witted. they should really
run for fucking office... they are that good
at trying to sucker you in by being half-assed
interested in something.
i know these schemes. i've been on the wrong
side of the tracks. many years ago i was
in a position where i was offered a job doing
the very same thing.... i know the inside
to this operation. its bogus and appauling.
so appauling in fact that i am here to also
STRESS to everyone that you should not
purchase magazines from these people.
the points race is NOT locally... its nationally.
(no matter what they tell you or what they
really believe)
you have a TERRIBLE chance at actually winning...
and you don't get paid SHIT... other than
being the gopher boy to some faceless
conglomerate.
i DESPISE these solicitors with a passion.
er... i should prolly end here... as i could
just go on and on about this....

i hate people selling shit.
every day...buy this, buy that, sponsor this team, advertise in this magazine, blah blah blah
we get a lot of ball teams obviously that come in asking for sponsorships.
most boast that our name will be displayed on the team banner that will travel all over the country!
well htf is it going to help my....bah....
i just hate them too.
sherwood recently banned all the door to door salesman so that's helped a lot. still doesnt really stop the drive-by's or the former customers that "know we'll help 'em out".
bah....
and five bucks says wes is late tomorrow. any takers? post before 11am Hostboard Time with "I'm in" if you would like to go in on the wager.
